HOTEL 7 - "The Eye" • Album CD available in stores as of January 18th 2011

Hotel 7 is not properly a band, but more a combo, gathered by Mario Ermoli, a great photographer with a passion for jazz music.
At some point he decided to give his own contribution to jazz and gathered some of the finest italian jazz musicians, including, among others, Giovanni Falzone on trumpet, Germano Zenga on sax and Francesco Pinetti on vibra...phone (though the list is richer and much longer).
“The Eye” is a trip through the 70’s jazz, the real jazz, and inspired by the kind of jazz that was used on several Hollywood movies in the seventies.
All of the tracks are original, written by Mario Ermoli and we are sure that they will take real jazz lovers on to a dimension they’d like re-discover.

★ A new step ahead for DEVA and their debut album "Between Life And Dreams". ★

After achieving the considerable mark of the TOP50 album sales chart in Russia where is released by Soyuz Music, the fantastic review on the december issue of Powerplay Magazine in the UK where the album is released by Ravenheart Music, the beginning of the promotion in Finland by AXR Music Oy following the very good review by the most influential finnish metal magazine Imperiumi, the album has been signed by the independent label The Anti hip-hop Alliance / Black Bone Records that will release it in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

What's next?

★ Review of DEVA "Between Life And Dreams" at POWERPLAY MAGAZINE (UK) by Martin Howell - 9/10 •

When I took a look at the debut CD Italy's Deva, I had them down as another female fronted synphonic gothic rock band with operatic vocals, loads of violins and the occasional death grunt.
yes they're femal fronted and yes they use operatic vocals, but musically this lot are far removed from the usual Within Temptation clones you get everywhere these days.
Deva play prog metal - really good, complex, interesting prog metal and combine it with the operatic vocal style usually associated with more gothic genres.
Imagine Sharon Den Adel singing for Zero Horr and you'll be getting close.
The opening intro "Breathe" and the first proper track, "Your Voice", are pretty good, but the album really comes into its own with "Dancing lane2, this one is just an outstanding piece of prog metal.
From then on the band let rip whith one amazing track after another, and the album closes with the four part epic "Karma".
This one has everything you could want, it lets the band really show what they can do, and trust me, that's quite a lot.
At times crushingly heavy, at others all whimsical and folky, this is a great debut that should appeal to anyone who likes complex adventurous music.

Powerpoints: 9/10
